Optimal Health and Prevent Disease
You cannot have optimal health if you have disease.
Many of the conditions that determine how long and how well we live, including heart disease, cancer, dementia, and metabolic disease, can develop quietly for decades before symptoms appear. That is why optimal health starts with prevention: identifying risk early, detecting disease as soon as possible, and taking action while there is still time to meaningfully change the outcome.
Think of your health as a long term investment. What you do today compounds over time. And you do not have to wait decades to benefit. The same actions that protect your future can help you become stronger, healthier, and more resilient today.
Health compounds. Start early.
Meet Your Clinician
Lucas Cajiao, MSN, FNP-BC
Program Director & Nurse Practitioner
Lucas Cajiao is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Program Director of The Early Prevention & Longevity Institute in Newport Beach. He practices healthspan medicine, a proactive approach focused on catching and reducing disease risk years, sometimes decades, before conventional medicine would act.
Lucas earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University. Before medicine, he built and operated several businesses. He co-founded a specialty pharmacy that he later exited, and he owned and operated a medical device company and a successful real estate investment business. He brings that operator's mindset to clinical care.
Behind the practice is a collaborating team of physicians and PhD researchers who help review the latest evidence, so the protocols stay current as the science moves. Lucas remains the one clinician who knows your whole picture.
Why I do this
“I went from business to medicine because I was good at making money, but I was not passionate about what I was doing. Helping people live happier, healthier lives as a nurse, and now as a nurse practitioner, has been infinitely more rewarding. If I can make one person healthier and help them suffer a little less, I am fulfilled.”
How your care is built
Everything starts with your personal risk assessment.
We collect a large amount of data about you, then weigh it against current data on the biggest health risks for people like you.
The result is your personal risk assessment: the specific risks most likely to affect your health, ranked by what matters most for you.
That assessment shapes everything that follows. The lifestyle interventions, the medications, the supplements, and the follow up all come from it. Your care is built from your risks, not from a template.
