    Immune Health and Inflammation

Your immune system ages, and inflammation rises.

Two things shift with age at the same time: your immune system gets slower at fighting off infections, and your body carries a low, steady level of inflammation you cannot feel. That quiet background inflammation is linked to many of the diseases people fear most, including dementia and heart disease. We work to lower it at the source by building muscle, reducing the fat stored around your organs, and improving sleep and metabolic health, which together keep your immune system stronger and your inflammation lower. When your symptoms or history point there, we also look for early autoimmune trouble and check your thyroid and gut.

We treat immune aging as two separate problems: immunosenescence (the gradual weakening of the immune system with age) and inflammaging (chronic low grade inflammation that is linked to heart disease, dementia, and other major conditions).

We track it with two markers: hsCRP (high sensitivity C-reactive protein, a blood test that detects low levels of inflammation a standard test would miss) and the NLR (neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, a number pulled from a routine blood count that reflects immune stress and balance).

Autoimmune screening is driven by your symptoms, and we evaluate the thyroid and gut when your history warrants it. We deliberately avoid broad ANA panels (a blanket antibody test that often flags healthy people) and unvalidated leaky gut tests, because a test that does not change your care is not worth the worry it causes.

Vaccination decisions are made together, weighing your situation and your preferences.

This is one part of a complete, personal risk assessment.
